Pret is all over the UK, all over New York City, and even made the move to D.C. I think they forgot a state! This is what I call the best sandwich, wrap, cookie, yogurt, salad, baguette, juice smoothie, croissant delicatessen that I have been lucky to eat from.
We first met in the fall of 2007, when I was a young school girl frolicking the streets of London in search of food that tasted like food, not food that tasted like cardboard. The dean of the study abroad program recommended the swanky eatery, and much to my surprise, it was good. The decor of the sitting area was Euro-chic, with metal tables and chairs and moody accent lighting. It was simple, grab your food out of the refrigerated shelves, wait in line, and pay.
There is every kind of wrap you could think of, my favorites are the duck wrap and the award winning avocado and herb wrap. Another plus side, all the food is made fresh every day from organic, all natural ingredients. There are no pesticides, steroids, Swine flu, or any other carcinogen on the food. Someday Los Angeles will be introduced the this new wave of healthy fast food eating, but in the mean time, it does not hurt to take another trip to London.
